Introduction
This blog documents my current development of an autonomous flight (AF) vehicle.
Back in 2009, I first started thinking about an AF vehicle and had gotten so far as to do some research and experimentation. Back then I envisaged starting with a standard R/C aircraft and developing all of the flight stabilization and navigation systems myself.
I have been away from aerial photography for a while and am just now getting back into it. One of the first things I discovered is that there several "autopilot" systems out there that do most if not all of what I was planning on doing. So my plan now is to use one of these existing autopilot systems, rather than trying to "reinvent the wheel."
I have kept the first few blog entries for historical reference. Note the "first" navigation on the individual blog entries links to the first of the "new" entries, rather than the actual first entry from 2009.
